International Agri-Technology Centre (IATC)

Calls for Tender: Preliminary study and recommendations for the development of proposals for a National Equestrian Institute and Global Academy within the context of the overall National Equestrian Centre development at Stoneleigh Park.

The IATC is the UK Trade and Investment sector team responsible for promoting and developing the UK agri-technology sector’s international trade potential through the securing of international business and inward investment. It is currently involved in a project to support Advantage West Midlands and the British Equestrian Federation in the development of a concept to establish a national and international institution of ‘Global Academy’ centred around an equestrian centre as part of the proposed developments under discussion by RASE and partners for the Stoneleigh Park site.

Stoneleigh Park is an 800 acre site in Warwickshire, owned by the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE). The British Equestrian Federation, IATC and a number of other ‘rurally focused’ organisations are also located there.

The discussions for the development of an equestrian centre also include proposals for a new ‘National Equestrian Institute’ that will bring together a number of partners and concepts to create a home for British Equestrian Sports and recreation, and help develop international markets for businesses in this sector.

In order to take this forward, it has been agreed that an external consultanct or consultancy, with significant international sports development and academic experience, should be appointed to work with partners (BEF, AWM and IATC) to provide a preliminary study and recommendations for the development of the National Equestrian Institute and Global Academy concept.
