Responsibility and Cost Sharing Road Show
An opportunity for livestock farmers to hear the case for change in the Government’s Animal Disease Management Policy and for farmers to make their views known about the changes and their implications.
The Government is proposing major changes in the way it manages and compensates for outbreaks of animal disease. To help promote a wide-ranging debate on this vital topic, the Society, in conjunction with Farmers Weekly and in association with four leading land-based colleges, is running a series of meetings under the title of the Responsibility and Cost Sharing Road Show.
This is a vital opportunity for readers to have their say on a topic that will affect the viability and profitability of livestock farming for decades to come.
Gavin Ross, Defra lead in the Responsibility and Cost Sharing Policy team will speak at the meetings along with a leading independent veterinary expert.
This special programme of meetings will culminate in an Open Meeting at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh on Thursday, 3rd July when Lord Rooker, Minister responsible for the policy, will hear reports from each of the regional meetings and give his response.
Please note the Road Shows from 23rd June to 26th June have been cancelled, however the meeting below for the 3rd July is going ahead and places can still be booked.
